Totems from various pre-20th sources, house updated for my games.

Totems of Respect

Bison-
Background Cost: 5

Always highly respected by the Pure Ones. Bison is both calm and warlike. serene yet determined. Pack adopted by Bison are logical, surviving, and fierce warriors. They favor debate and discussion, but one a decision is reached, there is no more discussion. his pack are most commonly Uktena and Wendigo.

Individual Traits – Each pack member gains 1 honor renown.

Pack Traits – Pack may call on 1 dot of Brawl, Animal Ken, Enigmas, and two dots of Survival. Also, the pack may call on 3 points of willpower per story.

Ban – Bison’s packs must not be wasteful, and must always use part of something they kill in a practical fashion. For Black Spirals or wyrm tainted creature, a trophy will suffice.

Frog
Background Cost: 7

Frog carries respect throughout the spiritual world that belies her meager size. Frog is a shapeshifter and predator, akin to the Garou. A spirit of change, that is bound by the rise and fall of water levels during the seasons. Frog is associated with the seasons, and change in weather. She is known for being a common respondent to the call for a caern totem. A spirit of life and containing all the powers of nature in a tiny body.

Individual Traits – Gains gift “Elemental Favor”, and 2 Honor renown.

Pack Traits – The pack may call on two dots of Empathy

Ban – Though a ruler of the seasons, Winter is the bane of frog, and all his children take a +1 Difficulty penalty on ALL rolls during winter.

Lion
Backgrounds: 5

Individual Traits – Gains 1 Honor renown, and -1 to all difficulties for social interactions with rank 4 and 5 Garou(Athro/Elder).

Pack Traits – The pack may call on three dots of Animal Ken, and Four Willpower points per story.

Ban – Lion’s Pack must hunt and destroy those who would hunt wild animals for pleasure.

Mammoth

Background Cost: 5

Individual Traits – Each pack member gains 2 dot of Enigmas.

Pack Traits – The pack may call on 2 Dots of Strength. Also, they may call on 2 Rage, and 1 Gnosis per story.

Ban – Mammoth asks that those who serve him save him his slow descent into destruction, and restore his children by any means possible, short of breaking their oaths to Gaia.

Totems of War

Bull
Background Cost: 8

Individual Traits – One dot of Strength, and 3 dots of Brawl. Also, 1 Glory Renown.

Pack Traits – May call on 4 Rage points per Story.

Ban – Bull is growing desperate as the final days, making him prone to fits of anger. His children receive -2 difficulty on Rage rolls. He also disapproves of indirect solutions.
Children of Bull who enter a Thrall of the Wyrm always enter a Beast-Of-War frenzy regardless of their breed.

Earthquake
Background Cost: 5

Individual Traits – Gain one dot of Brawl and one Glory Honor.

Pack Traits – Pack may call on 3 dots of Strength.

Ban – Children of Earthquake may never travel by air.

Flea
Background Cost: 5

Individual Traits – Gains “Hare’s Leap” and “Luna’s Armor”

Pack Traits – Lose 1 Glory, and subtract 1 Glory from all Glory awards they get. Those who follow flea must prove themselves.

Ban – Flea asks that you leave he children in peace. You can’t scratch.

Shark
Background Cost: 6

Individual Traits – Gain +2 extra damage on Bite attacks, and 1 Glory renown.

Pack Traits – Packs may call on 1 dot of Strength, and 2 dots of Stealth

Ban – Shark cannot abide those who show either pleasure or distress from killing.

Weasel
Background Cost: 7

Individual Traits – Gain one dot of Dexterity. Add one to all Athletic rolls made to Dodge.
Gain one extra damage on Bite Attacks

Pack Traits – None

Ban – Must never show fear.

Wolverine
Background Cost: 6

Individual Traits – Gains one dot of Stamina. Also, the children of Wolverine gain 1 permanent Rage point. This will not bring permanent Rage above 10. Also, this point cannot be lost, even if it is the last point, it can be spent, but will not go away. Packs of Wolverine are not able to lose the Wolf.

Pack Traits – None.

Ban – Must always spend at least 1 Rage in every round of combat, and must never show mercy.

Totems of Wisdom

Chameleon
Background Cost: 4

Individual Traits – Gain “Blur of Milky Eye”

Pack Traits – Pack may call on 3 dots of Perception.

Ban – Must not act until have fully taken stock of their situation.

Aeolus/Fog
Background Cost: 5

Individual Traits – Gain an extra die of Subterfuge and Stealth. Gain “Curse of Aeolus”.

Pack Traits – May reduce the difficulty of all Enigmas and Occult rolls.

Ban – A Child of Fog may not reveal a secret to anyone outside his sept and pack. If they do, they permanently lose 1 Willpower.

Salmon
Background Cost: 7

Individual Traits – Gain 2 dots of Rituals, and 2 levels of Rites.

Pack Traits – Step Sideways at -1 Difficulty.

Ban – Salmon will ask his charges to complete a task for him once a year. This operates as the Geas Philidox Gift.

Sphinx
Background Cost: 7

Individual Traits – Gains 1 dot of Wits, and 2 Wisdom renown. Gains “Fatal Flaw”.

Pack Traits – Pack may call on 3 dots of Enigmas.

Ban – May not refuse a riddle contest. Also, each pack member must have at least one Mental Attribute of 4 or higher, after the additional dot of Wits is added.

Twister
Background Cost: 5

Individual Traits -

Pack Traits -

Ban – May not leave a dwelling without destroying something. It must be something useful or relevant to the household. and must be at least the size of a small book.

Wind Incarnae
Background Cost: 5

This is really 5 totems in one. The is one Wind Lord for each cardinal direction, and then the lord of the Umbral winds.

East Wind – A pack containing a Child of Gaia may purchase this WInd for 4 points.

Individual Traits – +1 Difficulty on all Rage Rolls.

Pack Traits – May call on 3 Gnosis per story.

South Wind – A pack containing a Silent Strider may purchase this Wind for 4 points.

Individual Traits – Gain 1 dot of Stamina. Also, has incredible vision, and may make a Perception+Alertness(8) Roll to see anything within a mile as if he was standing up close.

Pack Traits – None

North Wind – A pack containing a Wendigo may purchase this Wind for 4 points.

Individual Traits – Gains 1 dot of Enigmas, and Occults. Also, gains 2 extra soak die against all damage(except silver) if the temperature is freezing or below.

Pack Traits – May call on 3 Willpower points per story.

West Wind – A pack containing a Uktena may purchase this Wind for 4 points.

Individual Traits – Gains a dot of Leadership. Also gains 1 extra dice anytime is making an opposed roll in which the same trait is being used. I.e. if he is making an opposed Willpower roll, since both contestants are using the same trait, the child would get an extra die.

Pack Traits – May call on 3 willpower per story.

Umbral Wind – A pack containing a Stargazer may purchase this Wind for 4 points.

Individual Traits – Steps sideways at -2 difficulty.

Pack Traits – None

Ban: All the children of the Wind Lords must keep a reminder of the totems presence on them at all times. Many bind bells into their fur and clothes, and put up wind chimes.

Totems of Cunning

Goat
Background Cost: 5

Individual Traits – Gains 2 dots of Subterfuge, and Survival.

Pack Traits – May make Willpower rolls at -1 Difficulty.

Ban – Goat’s kids must eat what is offered to them as long it is detectable as non-toxic and edible. The character must have cause to deny food due to toxicity or taint.

_Raccoon-
Background Cost: 5

Individual Traits – Gain an extra dice to hit with all Claw attacks. Gains 2 dots of Stealth.

Pack Traits – May call on 3 dots of Survival.

Ban – Must leave small, shiny objects in the forests or woods for Raccoon’s other children to find.
